Weinland Watch

Five Days to the Seventh Seal

“…and the world will be shocked and in horror on the day that the Seventh Seal is opened.” [pp 23, 2008: God’s Final Witness]

That hardly sounds like “a spiritual event” to me, does it sound like a spiritual event to you? Those last three thunders aren’t getting any louder, either; Rod Meredith is still alive, the US hasn’t recognized Weinland as one of the two witnesses from the canonical christian bible, and nobody’s walking around rejecting trinitarianism whole-cloth the last I heard.

Tick tick tick tick tick tick Weinland. According to your own book, those “thunders” are supposed to be sounding so loudly, no one will be able to deny them, “before the seventh seal is  opened”. What gives?

  2. What is he going to do? The thing is, nobody knows. That’s why this site exists.

  4. 1. The stock market hasn’t crashed, or gone through any kind of correction that has proven cataclysmic.

    2. The economy in Canada (America’s “prophetic brother” according to Weinland) is actually looking bullish (whereas we’re supposed to go down the tubes with the US, according to Weinland).

    3. What weather? Other than a particularly late winter, we haven’t had anything horrifyingly catastrophic happen globally with the weather.

Add to that the fact that the fifth, sixth, and seventh thunders have not sounded at all (the death of Rod Meredith, the US acknowledging Weinland and his wife as the two witnesses, and the rejection of trinitarianism by all those who hold to that theology), never mind “started to sound in so pronounced a manner no one will be able to deny them”, and Weinland only has five days to go. His track record is not looking good at this point.

  5. But the Euro hit an ALL-TIME HIGH against the $ today. The dollar’s value fell below 100 yen! For the first time in….

Well, in about 12 years. But still….

If we all just go to church this Saturday and stop eating pork, we can prevent this. C’mon, people!!!

  6. The trinitarianism point is interesting to me. I know MANY people that claim to be “Christian” and many Catholics that truly have no idea what the trinity even stands for. Not to sound sef-righteous.. but the majority of people that claim to be Christians are made up of the folks that go to church on holidays, weddings and special occassions… and ones that haven’t been in years but were baptised as children. If someone told these people to “reject” the trinity, I am sure they wouldn’t care either way.

As far as the economy…. the present state of the economy was predicted by economists years ago. I spent 11 years in the mortgage business on the wholesale side of things…. in 1998 when Subprime mortgage companies began running wild the “housing slump” in the United States was being talked about then…. Everyone knew back then that what’s happening today would go down based on Wall Street trends as to how it deals with fraud and bad securities. Every company in the industry was throwing bricks up on Wall Street and we all know that there would be about a 5-10 window before the secondary market would stop buying. What was the result?
    1. CEOs and wholesale reps got filthy rich.
    2. Foreclosure rate went throught the roof… just like we all said would be the outcome.

When the ecomomy starts turning for the bad, it’s always the largely the result of mismanagement–much of which is intentional. The funny thing about what’s happening in the US… it’s being blamed entirely on the war in Iraq, but in reality the war is now just a small part of the problem.

My point: anyone one of us could have predicted strange weather patterns and goofy economy and called ourselves prophets. Just like everyone’s been saying (some have missed it)… Weinland, in the beginning was very vague as to what he would and wouldn’t say is going to happen.

He tripped up in my opinion with the “half hour meaning a month,” “Roderick Meredith will die” and “There won’t be a US President taking office in 2009.”

I am not sure where everyone is located, but in Illinois, we have had some strange weather… rain storms, tornadoes, extremely cold, followed by unseasonably warm fronts… but

    1. This is certainly not a global thing and
    2. None of it is unexplainable and totally out of left field where everyone is falling to their knees begging God to stop and running to Ron’s church, like he pretty much said hundreds, then thousands should have done by now.

  7. To be fair, Weinland is a tad vague on what, if anything, the seventh thunder actually is. I read it to mean (and from listening to the sermons) that this is what his followers are interpreting as “the scattered church” being called back under Weinland’s dominion, which is just patently ridiculous (and not likely to happen in thirty years, never mind thirty days).

Weinland was saying, as recently as a month ago, that there would be an influx of “millions and millions” into the church. Interesting that the quote seems to have been either moved or removed, and now the evangelists (particularly Matthews in last Saturday’s sermon) are promoting the “we are a small church” philosophy. Presumably (one hopes) due to agitation from the other splinter groups.

  8. If he was from god don’t you think he wouldn’t change his story so much?

Rod Meredith going from a death to a “spiritual” death

7th seal going from Physical to “spiritual”

and now this stupid thunder…..Is it me our is RW trying to make sure nothing he says can be seen and he can than take the cash and run? I smell something fishy about RW…..

  9. According to the website, http://www.ronaldweinland.com, Ronald made THIS statement:

“Beginning in February, those thunders will increase dramatically, and by April this world will begin to be shaken to its foundations.”

FALSE. There has been, in the month of February, NO dramatic increase of any thunders whatsoever – even if you attempt to stretch your imagination. There have been the usual dollar variances, a few tornado outbreaks here and there – none worse than the horrific April 3-4, 1974 or the Palm Sunday 1965 Outbreak – no massive flooding or anything so earth shattering to be called a “Thunder”. It is now the middle of March, and the world continues to turn without even a glitch.

Ronald also said the following on his website:

“Beginning in the new year, the pace of events will pick up dramatically and this site will begin to take on greater purpose and meaning.”

We are 25% through the New Year… and there has been no events or pace increase. The sites purpose and meaning has not even increased. Roderick Meredith, of course, continues as leader of LCG, the other Splinter leaders remain as they have been, Dave Pack continues to do his thing, so does Clyde Kilough and the gang. COG’s continue planning for the Feast (except Weinland’s group, apparently), and mainstream Christianity, whom Weinland is so against of course, hasn’t batted an eye at this – nor have most even heard of this.

    And finally, this quote:

“February will be here soon! Don’t squander the time that is in front of you. Use it wisely!”

February is gone. Apparently, there’s more time? Look at what Weinland is doing, posted in March 9. The same as he has been doing.

Indeed, the stopwatch is clicking. The reality is however, the only people that are even remotely taking this man seriously are COGGERS. Anyone else can already see the track record for his awesome claims are already on a very slippery slope.

  10. I had not noticed that CoG-PKG wasn’t “planning” for the FoT. To be fair, LCG may be jumping the gun a bit. (Whatever happened to “first the fast then the feast” boys?) One wonders if that is by plan or by design……..

Weinland’s house of cards is on the verge of collapse. Once Tuesday passes, with no “sounding of the thunders”, and no re-unification of “the scattered church” (which is ludicrous just on the face of it), one hopes that whatever small membership remains in Weinland’s sect will get out while they still can, before Passover truly reveals Profit Ron’s falsehoods.

Religious financial abuse continues apace. Even though Weinland has been consistently proven wrong, over and over again (and will be proven wrong on Tuesday), people are still giving their money to the church.

  11. Good point WW–

This is what scares me, because it’s become so easy for COG ministers to pull this crap…. they all know fully well what the outcomes will be when the predictions don’t come to pass. HWA wrote the book on it and these dudes were all students.

    1. Stay vague enough to be able to recover later. (what HWA did there was usually blame the CHURCH’s lack of monetary support on the fact that God held things back)
    2. Use the window just after things don’t come to pass to prepare “big announcement” type speeches as to “why” things didn’t come to pass and to “reveal” what God “really wants them to do!”… this always involved needing more money.

But I do think Ron has kept vague enough in many areas but he’s said way to much about certain things that will sink him in the end… this is the very reason why a destructive end of PKG could possibily be on the horizon.

  12. WW–
I was just reading some of Ron’s book… and I kept coming back to the seven thunders of the sixth seal…..

You had mentioned that one of thunders… was the 6th.. that “who he says he is” will begin to be come very clear on radio, tv, in the US…etc…..

What is important to point out here is that ANY popularity that Ron is getting on ANY scale is due to his books and the interviews HE AND HIS PUBLICIST have scheduled.

The radio interviews that RW did …. almost all of them were the result of a copy of teh book being sent to radio stations in the US and countries that Weinland did Sabbath services in. They just sat back and waited for some of them to call and want to speak to him… but he makes it sound like he’s sold millions of book in 100 plus countries and radio stations are fighting to talk to him..

Does anyone know just how many books he’s “Shipped” to other countries… he says he’s “shipped books to over 140 countries.” That could mean 140 books for all I know.

My point is… anyone can write a book and promote it and get 15 minutes of fame on TV and radio….. I’ve done that with my music, but it certainly doesn’t make me Elvis Presley or the Beatles!

Don’t be fooled, folks… the MEDIA has never been seeking out Ronald Wienland.. any waves he’s making or has made, he’s created.

And to ad more “proof” he’s said to have some TV ads ready to air before Passover…. now the last time I checked.. running a TV ad is not considered media attention….. it’s marketing… and that’s all Ron Weinland is doing.

Anyway…. just a humorous thought that came to my mind while I was riding my bike.

  13. If he was from god don’t you think he wouldn’t change his story so much?

Rod Meredith going from a death to a “spiritual” death

That sounds familiar — from about 1987, when Oral Roberts said on his weekly telecast (which I watched on WWOR-TV right before the World Tomorrow) that God would “call him home” if he didn’t get a lot of $$$. “Won’t you SAVE MY LIFE?!??!!?” he declared.

Then he started backpedaling, hemming, hawing, saying he didn’t really mean all that literally. But he wound up with the $$, and is still alive and in retirement as I write this.

  14. Most ludicrous tele-preacher I’ve seen in awhile? There’s this dude that’s been on VisionTV, in syndication the past couple nights (not a CoG minister), who is trying to get “parishioners’ to part with literally their very last penny for a piece of matzoh in a ziploc baggie. If it was satire or fiction, it would be hilarious.

Like Weinland however, he’s all too real.

  17. Awful hungry. Last night he was hawking a “green prosperity handkerchief”. Which doesn’t even touch on the SDA preacher that had a telethon going for “Send in your offering for Passover!” (Bit early yet no?)
