“The Elders Will Be The Official Leaders of the Church……”

This news broke on March 29, 2008.

This comment just in:

“I have not read all the latest comments, but I wanted to say it appears that the elders will be the official leaders of the church in their prospective areas starting this saturday. [March 29, 2008] The two day elder meeting & [minutes] that their wives attended in cincy will be kept secret from the rest of the church. which does raise up a red flag.”

A sign that Weinland is planning on skipping town? At least he will be leaving more than Matthews “holding the bag” as it were (although I’m certain he will not leave the elders holding the bag(s) of money). So who are the elders who will be left in charge?

All of this information has been gleaned from a combination of online searches, and the names of the elders provided in the weekly sermons.

  • Ken Zitt — Cincinatti, OH — no other information at this time.
  • Anthony Raymond Wilson “arwilson529” in Jacksonville, TN — He runs the HWA Compendium site and may take care of computer administration for the church. I don’t know if he is ordained or not. 23 years of age.
  • Chris Czech in Vancouver, WA — WA/OR border — No other information at this time.
  • Jim Jameson(sp?) Boise Idaho — Wife’s name is Jenna, one son Jason, both family members baptized. No other information at this time.
  • Sam Qualls in Columbia, Missouri — He may be some relation to the late Eddie Qualls. Rene Qualls (Eddie’s widow, nee Phillips) is a part of “God’s Talents Ministries” with her father, Ted Phillips. This group is affiliated with Christian Education Ministries, which is Ron Dart’s Church of God organization. (Dart used to be affiliated with Garner Ted Armstrong’s CGI, the original “splinter group” that broke off from Worldwide in the 1970s.
  • Mitch Williams in Springfield, MA — He was either an elder or a pastor (working with Aaron Dean) in the Dallas North congregation of the United Church of God ca. 1997.
  • Skip Henry in Buffalo, NY — Information on recruitment tactics by the church in the New York area.
  • Jimmy Carlisle TX — No other information at this time.
  • Johnny Harrell (Evangelist for the US) — “President” of Mid-State Homes, a renovation/carpentery company in Macon GA. May have relations in St. Petersburg  or Orlando, FL. Harrell and his wife will be travelling with the Weinlands on or around April 17, 2008.
  • Leonard McGlynn in Winnipeg MB — Currently lives in Oakbank, MB. No other information at this time. He may be covering the Stratford, ON congregation as well; this is only speculation. No elder has been mentioned for Ontario in the sermons. McGlynn may also be responsible for parts of the northeastern US.
  • Don Edwards in Phoenix AZ — was made an elder in Los Angeles CA, Edwards may be a member of Weinland’s travelling group. No other information at this time.
  • Bill Catasta or Cataska or Kotaska(sp?) — FL elder, worked with Johnny Harrell. No other information at this time.

  • Greg Chipps — DE/OH area elder — Is employed by the church as a computer consultant.
  • John Giannotta — Red Hook, NY — Information on recruitment tactics by the church in the New York area.
  • Paul Worth (somewhere in Georgia)— No other information at this time.
  • Paul Giles (Dublin GA) — No other information at this time.
  • Steve Blair — Dallas, TX — No other information at this time.
  • Terry Wrozek DE/OH area elder — Apparently one of the higher-ranking elders. May be close to Weinland. Picture from the Jackson Citizen Patriot. Posted under Fair Use Law. 1. Aw, c’mon — since when was a secret elders’ meeting a “red flag” in a COG group? That’s happened for years and years. Even in Ron Weinland’s old group, UCG — remember the surprise announcement that the Home Office was moving to TX.

So this is NOT the Mitch Williams who gained fame around 1990 as the “Wild Thing?”
Who was run out of Philadelphia when he gave up that home run to Joe Carter of Toronto in the World Series?? (giggle)

  2. It seems like Ron is covering all the bases on paper. The secret meeting…. I was not in the COG, but if any church has a “secret” meeting among elders, it’s usually not good for the members.

Just by listening to Ron’s “3 More Weeks” sermon I can tell he’s been reduced to begging his members to stay with him at this point. Here’s what I paraphrashed out of it:

“Please don’t listen to “unbelievers.” They don’t “understand.” They are “crackpots.” Only I understand. The book isn’t wrong. Everything is happening just as I promised, it’s just that the events aren’t unfolding in physical ways. God is only giving me information based on HIS timeline. I am a prophet. Please believe me and keep sending in money!”

Ron is spinning is wheels in the mud right now. And I can tell just by the way he speaks that the “critics” he speaks of are a thorn in his side.

I don’t know what is going to happen, but I can tell you he’s all but said he’s false.. just in his explaination of the death of COG pastors….. in “3 More Weeks” he said something like “the critics say I am false because no ministers have died, but they will in the next 3.5 years..” He never once said that he WROTE IN THE BOOK that they would start dying BEFORE THE SEVENTH SEAL was opened. Either he was wrong about the 7th Seal or wrong about the deaths… either way, he’s WRONG. He, in my book is a liar.

He also WROTE IN THE BOOK that the STOCK MARKET CRASH would happen first, then in interviews he said in APRIL NUKES WOULD GO OFF… both events being what caused the U.S. to cease being a nation and NO PRESIDENT would take office…

Well… the race for the White House is still going stronger than ever. The market is stable and I highly doubt nukes will go off…….. BUT in “3 More Weeks” Ron says that “no president will take office in 2009.” But he has no idea what will cause that…..

Now the elders are in place…… Not sure why, but it looks like he’s lining up the pawns.

And think of this…. If Ronald Weinland is so bitter about the Worldwide Church of God, why hasn’t he predicted any deaths from the current staff there? Why only splinter groups…..you would think, that he’d want every “traditional Christian” off the face of the earthh.. Armstrong did…. (at least the ones with no money)…..

My opinion: I think Ronald Weinland is realizing that the Herbert W. Armstrong horse is dead. And taking the money and running is the only way for him to get out of this… because if what I think is going to happen occurs… he could face some federal charges that could land him in jail. Any lawyers or accountants want to comment on that?…..ones that aren’t related to Ronald Weinland that is.

  3. Jim,

You wrote that “I don’t know what is going to happen, but I can tell you he’s all but said he’s false… just in his explanation of the death of COG pastors…in “3 More Weeks” he said something like “the critics say I am false because no ministers have died, but they will in the next 3.5 years..”

Mathematics is about…probability and there are ministers of old who are aged or have health problems that will warrant death in the next 3.5 years.

You also commented that, Weinland “…WROTE IN THE BOOK that the STOCK MARKET CRASH would happen first, then in interviews he said in APRIL NUKES WOULD GO OFF… both events being what caused the U.S. to cease being a nation and NO PRESIDENT would take office…

Well, I believe in the last sermon April is suppose to be all spiritual and the physical stuff (evidence) would come later. It looks like Weinland’s God is leaving him along highway 4 without gas and a 14 mile walk to the nearest gas station. I am sure that he must be questioning his own writings and the validity and truthfulness of his who production.

That was my reaction too Richard.

  7. Ron Dart does not have a splinter group. He does not have a church. He has a support ministry. He specifically decided, when he left CGI, that to start another church would be to further splinter the Church of God. So, he is an evangelist to anyone who wants his services.

  8. My wife and I are from Cincinnati, and we know Steve Dalrymple well. He is from here. He is a very level headed and sensible man. We were told (second hand) that Steve rightly told a minister here, “you are not getting into my head.” But apparently someone did get into his head. Steve’s father-in-law was with Weinland also, and was one of the members that died, and requested that there be no funeral for him. The folks here in Cincinnati are very scattered, and were very close knit at one time. When someone dies there are many who attend funerals, regardless of what group they attend with. We thought that Flurry was the most radical, but now it seems Weinland can take the lead.

  9. Thanks for the info on Ron Dart, I haven’t looked into the CEM much, except I’ve seen Dart mentioned in passing, notably on Ambassador Watch as being one of the “moderates”.

Looks like Dart is playing the field, in order to maximize his income, with the “support ministry” idea. It certainly seems a more effective way to broaden his audience, than any of the other CoG leaders’ tactics.

  11. More from Cincinnati. Could the Ralph Mount from Cincinnati be Ralph Dowd? There is a Ralph Dowd here, he was and elder in WW, he went on with Jim O’Brien, then on with Weinland. He has 5 sons, one of them is a minister in United, Dan Dowd, he pasters north of here, don’t know exactly where, he has 2 churches he pastors, another son, Eddie is married to John Elliott’s daughter, they live out west somewhere. Ralph’s wife Mary died recently, and she too requested no funeral service. We were told that the sons were not happy that their mother did not have a funeral service. She was very well known and there would have been hundred of people there. Mary played piano for almost every service, on holy days when all 4 Cincinnati churches got together, and many socials. Both of them were wonderful folks, well loved here and respected. And missed.

  12. Listening again, it could be Dowd, not Mount — Weinland’s accent gets a little too thick for me to make him out clearly sometimes (when he’s not yelling how I’m going to die — that I can make out quite clearly).

    Thanks for the updated info!

  13. Mark–
NWO? Illuminati? Have you been reading books by Jim Maars? If so, put them down.

Secret societies, masonry, illuminati, conspiracy theory, etc…. all just a bunch of half-truths and and non-sense.

And Ronald Weinland is simply a disgruntled and disturbed former WCG pastor who still WORSHIPS Herbert W. Armstrong and the dead horse he rode in on.

I wouldn’t say you are nuts…… but completely off base.

  14. THIS JUST IN….RONS LATEST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    April 3, 2008

My wife and I, as well as Johnny and Myrtle Harrell, will be visiting Israel from April 14th through April 21st. We will be in Jerusalem on April 17th which is the day the First Trumpet of the Seventh Seal sounds. The process of all that will occur, with the sounding of the First Trumpet, will begin on April 17th and continue to increase in destructive power (consequences) for the following seven weeks. The Second Trumpet will not sound until after the Day of Pentecost. This does not mean it is near that date, but it means it cannot happen until after that day.

The actual beginning of the specific job God has for His two end-time witnesses (two end-time prophets) begins to unfold on April 17th. As I have already stated, I am one of those witnesses and the spokesman of both. While in Israel, I plan to reveal publicly the identity of the second witness in the sermon to be given on the Sabbath of April 19th from Jerusalem.

  17. “The Second Trumpet will not sound until after the Day of Pentecost. This does not mean it is near that date, but it means it cannot happen until after that day.”

Looks like Rotten Ron pushed the date ahead again people. Now that I’ve cleaned up the NWO mess that was left in the comments here, the important information has come out: Now instead of April 17th, it’s “the day after Pentecost”.

And what will Weinland’s excuse be, one wonders, on the day after the day after Pentecost?

  18. Good point, WW–
Ron will run out of days very soon. He’s already said Christ will return in Sept. 2011. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he changes that.

But I do think there is a distinct possibility that Ron may, in fact, choose to not come back to the United States.

He’s pretty much proven to me that he’s crafty enough to have been cooking this whole thing up from the start. The timeline of events in his ministry have told that story.

    He leaves WCG
Then leaves UCG because of some financial mess
Then joins forces with another splinter, which evolved into PKG

I smell a rat. Have always smelled a rat.

This is becoming a comic book story.

  19. Chris C. is not as young as you think. Really. Young 40’s possibly.

Creg Chip: Off again on again for years with wife over church, Finally when Ron ordained him i heard she locked him out for good. Aren’t you proud of yourself Ron????

The one that really surprises me is John G. I honestly thoght he would be smarter than that. He has had alot of not so good boughts with Ron. They weren’t even that fond of each other. Now he is on your list. What a big shock. I am sure his wife had a very big influence on him. I have known him for years. He was ill for a very long time. I guess he is all better now. Boy i am really shocked at this one. He was a really great guy and friend. Hmmmmmmmmmm
I can’t believe this guys are buying this up. Maybe it gives them pride. I don’t know!!!

  21. Thanks for the info X-CoG-PKG. Any idea how old Anthony Wilson is? He is quite technically proficient (he has spammed most of the message boards out there about the church), and is apparently a Linux aficionado, but not very proficient with it.

Oh yes he also uses the same userid everywhere he goes, “arwilson529”. Makes him easy to track. 😉

John Giannotta I am uncertain about. I believe Weinland may have either mentioned him, or called him for opening prayer at one point. I have also had specific visitor searches for him on the site, so that was why I added him.

  26. Anthony Wilson does seem extremely civil, and very well-mannered. He has even posted comments here on occasion, and I have to say, he is the only baptized, attending follower of Weinland who does not spew vitriol when he comments here.

Of course since the “Entertaining Demons” sermon he has not commented at all. 😦
