Weinland’s Reaction to The Mike McConnell Show

New blog post from Weinland in regards to the Mike McConnell show.

“This subject matter is covered in recent sermons so I see no advantage in posting the interview on the website.”

There was a lot of speculation prior to the interview, as to whether or not Weinland would post it on his site, because McConnell clearly does not believe nor endorse Weinland’s theology, and during the course of the interview itself McConnell basically gave Weinland enough rope to hang himself on his own petard.

Have no fear however Weinland Watch has the full show here, as well as a transcript of the interview portion.

“This program had been promoted by WLW as one that would seek to question why the things that had been said/written by me had not come to pass. So, I was prepared to quote what is written in the book and to show the increase in the magnitude of several of the thunders since the last book was published in October of 2006.”

So do it! Why didn’t he use the webspace to actually quote what is written in the book and show the increase in the magnitude of several thunders? Because look at his disclaimer: “Since the last book was published in October of 2006”. He does not mention the Feb-April timeframe of DRAMATIC ESCALATIONS IN INTENSITY AND FREQUENCY.

Instead of using a blog post to tell why an interview wasn’t posted, wouldn’t it be more common sense to use that space to give the explanation he was going to give on the radio?

    And why didn’t he?

  2. In the interview on talkSPORT with James Whales available here:
    [audio src="http://www.rweinland.com/sermons/interviews/TalkSport_Ed.mp3" /]
at 20:03 into the file he says that the pope will be given special powers on April 17 while in the US.

Elsewhere in the interview he says that some significant (as yet unknown) event will happen on April 17. Repeated that nukular (?nuclear) weapons go off in port cities of the US 45-90 days later. Time to go dig a bomb shelter.

  3. More highlights / lowlights from talkSport interview with James Whales:
1:40 Second witness to be announced on the 17th. I thought 2nd witless to be announced on the 19th
5:20 After April 17, 45-90 days to 2nd trumpet, then nuclear weapon detonated in US, in port cities
13:15 April 17 will see something in news, more than “a minor irritation”
13:50 People will mock RW. finally a prophecy I can believe.
15:25 Starting April 17, pope will not be happy with RW.
18:55 If not clear that RW’s prophecies being fulfilled by mid-June, RW will admit to being false prophet. Won’t be holding my breath waiting for this to happen
20:03 The pope will be given special powers on April 17 while in the US I haven’t heard this one before.

  4. Thanks for the breakdown of the talkSport interview Ekimks. At last we have found the exact reference where Weinland names the Pope (sort of—see below)….also we have an earlier date than July to hold him to (mid-June which, I note, is not “Pentecost” which is celebrated June 8th by CoG-PKG). Looks like Whale called him on the forty-five to ninety days thing. I am surprised that the Whale interview was posted because the McConnell one was WAY more softball than the UK one.

Whale also makes the point that Weinland will be the only one who will hear the first trumpet next Thursday. And isn’t China and Russia supposed to be coming together now? That was the impression I had from last week’s sermon, here Weinland says China will rise after “Europe does what it’s gonna do”. He is still holds to the three – six months after the first trumpet. Weinland does say he will make it very clear that he was a false prophet “and I will never preach again”. Also that he will talk to anybody who wants to talk, “maybe somebody can learn from something like that, if that were to happen”. Slippery as ever.

Shadows, the reason Weinland does not post anything from the book is because people will see how contradictory and how wrong it is with regards to the prophecies therein.

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that Weinland was pleading with his own membership, with regards to the SDAs/Ellen White thing; I think maybe (if he really isn’t as insane as he seems to be) he realizes he’s being put to the fire by those of us ex-members on the Internet who have been down the false prophecy road beflore, and he wants to make sure he keeps members in, as Armstrong did, in 1975. Even after he’s declared a false prophet.

LOL notice when Whale mentions that Weinland could be the “anti-christ”….I have seen it floated around that apparently some CoG groups have brought up the theory, but organizationally, they stray away from it, so as not to fall into the trap of giving Weinland any more “glory” than he’s already got, in their minds. Weinland does mention it’s already been suggested.

Please note that Weinland says “a lot of people get the scriptures wrong and think it’s going to be the pope, a pope or…….” then ten seconds later Weinland refers to “the catholic church and “he’s going to be in Washington DC” but Weinland still does not specifically name the Pope.

Herbie never stepped down after all. He just kept going strong and pulling in the money for another fourteen years after his big prophecy didn’t pan out. 😦

  5. Weinland also mentions that “a lot of people who believe in us support us” when Whale asks “Where do you get the money to publish these books?” !!!

  6. The main thing to remember here is that when his job becomes official on the 17th he
has to prove it. Not before, not after. If he cant prove it then he goes to the ‘back of the line’ with the rest of the False Prophets. So far no predictions of his came true about the ‘April’ date.
After April 17th it simply boils down to a ‘waiting game’ with a surprise pie in the face
at the end….courtesy of Ronald Weinland. If you don’t want to get pied-in-the-face
by this psycho clown then draw your lines in the sand.

  7. Agreed Firestorm he has to prove it — to his critics. His members, however, have already given him “until Pentecost or July”.

Interesting to note how he slides the dates around:

-On the McConnell show he said if nothing happened by Labour Day he would declare himself a false prophet

-In the 5th April sermon he said if he wasn’t proved right by Pentecost or the end of the July, he would stop preaching

-Now in this latest interview he is saying by mid-June (which is a few days later than the church will be keeping Pentecost, on June 8th).

  8. The above scenario is only plausible if you don’t hold Weinland to his seventh seal fallacy, however. In my opinion, Ronnie was done like a turkey when that failed to materialize, and Weinland said “It’s a spiritual thing. I thought I made that abundantly clear.” (March 22 sermon.)

What he made “abundantly clear” in the book was “The world will be shocked and in horror on the day that the Seventh Seal is opened.” [pp. 23, 2008: God’s Final Witness]

And that isn’t even touching on the whole misdirection and sleight of hand over the thunders.

In the book it was “Before the Seventh (and final) Seal is opened, the Seven Thunders will become so pronounced that the validity of everything written about them in the previous chapter should roar loudly in the ears of anyone who is willing to admit the truth.” [pp. 115, 2008: God’s Final Witness]

    Then, AMAZINGLY:

The seventh seal is opened and the seven thunders intensify.”—form letter from Wayne Matthews to a baptized member.

  9. What he made “abundantly clear” in the book was “The world will be shocked and in horror on the day that the Seventh Seal is opened.” [pp. 23, 2008: God’s Final Witness]

Right. It is abundantly clear that “…on the day…” in his book has been switched to “gradually increasing” which he mentioned in one of his sermons. However this switch of his also failed because the world has not been gradually shocked and horror-ed (spiritually) after the seventh seal was opened. He is talkin Great Tribulation style shock and horror here folks…maybe he is confused about the wording: “GREAT!?”
I’m sticking to April 17th (maybe…+2 more days to ‘truly’ experience the shock and horror) because how would everyone know?

  10. Hi,
I’m not affiliated with any wwcg group but my wife’s parents are ucg and she grew up in wwcg. We are Catholic now.

    anyway,
My impression and this is pure speculation is that this guy is going for broke. He probably knows this is not true and he is fed up with all this prophecy stuff and he’s just throwing all out there. How could any normal person so flippantly discuss the terrifying deaths of thousands of people? If he really believed this he would be at least shedding a few tears…don’t you think?

He’s just going to take the money and run off and hide somewhere when all this turns out to be what it is. I just feel sorry for the people who are sending this guy their money.

  11. In his sermons he is so insulting to peop who are not “converted” calling them “crackpots” and using insulting language toward the outside world. You would think that a Man of God would be more loving and trying to “save souls”. I guess he is so proud to be in the only true church.

  12. I did not get to hear the sermon today. Did he say anything about his trip to Isreal? It’s tomorrow, isn’t it?

  13. Just at the beginning, where he said that the trip was being mocked by his critics, and he made the point (again) that they did get round-trip tickets. That was the only mention made, near the beginning during the announcements.
