TIMELINE TWO: Is it me, or……?

Does “the Jerusalem blog post” read like a Christmas message?

Wouldn’t be the first time a minister of misery tried to co-opt “the joy of the season”. (Oh yeah wait it’s the end of the world again and again.)

TIMELINE TWO: “Next Year in Jerusalem!” And the Year After That, Too

Looks like the Witlesses are reliving the 1st timeline as much as they possibly can. The natives must be getting restless. Below is the text of my post “Next Year in Jerusalem!” posted when Ron and Laura Weinland were in Jerusalem the first time, April 14 – 21, 2008.

What does that have to do with December 14th, you ask? Not a thing in the world, except the Great Tribulation started on April 17, 2008.

“Next Year in Jerusalem” — posted mid-April, 2008:

Ah, yes, that old Yiddish blessing (or a sarcastic riff on it at least). Is that what CoG-PKG members are telling one another, now that the 17th [April 17, 2008] is fully and completely out in all of the North American time zones?

Weinland, appropriately enough, has gone to ground. He and the missus definitely do not want to be proselytizing too loudly in the streets of Jerusalem for the next couple of days, otherwise they will be rounded up by the Israeli Health Authority and offered a nice long stay in the premier Kfar Shaul Mental Health Centre.

Given the hints dropped since the “Three More Weeks” sermon on March 29, 2008, it is likely that there will not be a Passover service uploaded to the church’s website; it is also possible that there will be no Saturday sermon on April 19th, 2008; at least not a live one, nor a long one, for the risk Weinland will be running to be collected by the Israelis. Considering that the Passover service will be pre-recorded when it is uploaded to the church’s website, it could have been recorded weeks ago. The Saturday sermon will be the final proof in the pudding (and could also have been pre-recorded before Weinland and Wife touched down in the holy land).

And what of Weinland’s predictions last Saturday for the Pope?

37:25 – 37:40 RW April 12, 2008 Sermon “God’s Love is Coming” “And the one he’s [Satan] going to start influencing in a very powerful way. Starting on April the 17th [2008] when the Pope is in Washington DC because that’s when it begins. And that’s when he begins to be influenced highly.

Sorry, Ronnie, didn’t see any devil-horns sprouting from the Dagon-hat today. I know members are under the impression that something is going to happen when Le Poo-Poo sets foot on Ground Zero, but other than the poor old guy shedding a tear or two (Is it me, or does the current pontiff have asthma?), I highly doubt the Dagon-hat will be sprouting horns then, either. So that’s one “prophecy” down.

1:16:24 RW Sermon March 29, 2008 “Three More Weeks:“What if, what if…comes April 17 [2008], my life changes dramatically one way or the other because it’s all in. Are we holding back? Are we all running, yet? So what are you going to do some of you who are skeptics and critics and you see these things come to pass? I will tell you what you will do as a whole, you will lie, you will twist, you will distort and you will die – speedily. So, one of us is walking on very dangerous ground…… [about 1:20:00] After April 17 [2008], I would fear to be in any of your shoes, truly, truly, truly!”

So I hedged my bets. Spent the day barefoot. No lightning bolts out of the blue. That’s another one down. Your track record ain’t looking so hot right now Ronnie-boy. Nothing has been posted on the church’s website, nor on Weinland’s blog. The church’s email address, thecofg@aol.com, has been set to auto-respond to whoever emails it. (Just sent a test email to see what comes back.)

I think it’s safe to say the area elders are going to have their hands full, for the next few days, fielding phone calls and emails from frantic members. That is probably why the minutes of the elders’ meeting on March 29, 2008 were not released to the general membership; the elders have probably been briefed, in no uncertain terms, on how to handle the non-events of the day of the sounding of the first trumpet. (45-90 days remember.)

That is only if the members are not “converted” enough to go along with the 45-90 day or six- to twelve-month extensions the church has given beyond yesterday [April 17, 2008].

Keep an eye on Shadows of WCG for more frequent updates. Barring anything really newsworthy (and my Inbox is always open at weinlandwatch@gmail.com), I have said all I needed to say, with regards to Weinland’s “accuracy”. Or mind-numbing lack thereof.

TIMELINE TWO: Edge AM Calling, Weinland.

1:53:20 “Three More Weeks” RW March 29, 2008 sermon: “If by Pentecost [June 8 2008] I’m just going to make this real clear to everyone. If by Pentecost [June 8, 2008] it is not powerfully and abundantly clear that there has been a great deal of destruction that will clearly encompass a third of all plant life in the US and at least the clear results of this mingled with blood the death of very much animal life and the beginning of large numbers of human life then I will stop preaching. Just so all the critics and everyone out there will understand. I am true to my word in these things. OK? And for all the critics if by the end of July and for most likely around Pentecost if nothing has clearly caused great destruction and death I will make it very clear that I was a false prophet. I will do exactly what I said I would do on aaaaall those interviews that I have held. To do less. Well. Would be quite insane.”

Looks like ILFPRW is living up to the IL part of his nickname. Even Daniel Ott thinks so. Who is Daniel Ott, you ask? Those who don’t remember their history are doomed to repeat it, as the plaque inside The Peoples’ Temple said.

The EDGE AM “Ron Weinland Reprise”

Thanks to an anonymous commenter at Don’t Drink the Flavor Aid who transcripted the relevant quote from the show that Ott was responding to, above:

DO: “Ron, will you come on the Edge in December 2008 and explain why your prohecies have not been fulfilled?”

RW: “Well, let’s put it this way, if we come to a point in time where what I said doesn’t take place, the reality is that I’m just a false prophet, because that’s the bottom line, and that’s it. Uh, there’d be no other answer. I [unintelligble] cannot say that. There would be absolutely no other answer. I know that other religious people do when they say a certain time, if you want to look at Ellen White, if you want to go back and look at different time, and different people in history, the people who made prophecies, religious people and so forth, and they haven’t come to pass, well, they give all these reasons why, uh, it’s gonna happen in five more years, we were, God’s led us to understand that, and so they go on from one point to another point to another point until they die. The reality is if it doesn’t happen, then you’re just false. There’s nothing else to say, what else could I say?”

DO: “To reword that question is, will you come back on the program and so that the people can, who have been emailing in the show questions, can applaud you for your accuracy? I think that would probably be more to what you would want to…”

RW: “Oh, ha ha, I’ll go on any of your programs… Either way, I’ll come on… I’ll acknowledge my error, my wrong, if I’m wrong. I know I’m not wrong, but, you know, this is not a small thing that God gives you something to do. Can you imagine Noah building an ark for 100 years and someone coming out there mocking him on dry land.”

Looks pretty dry to me, Weinland.

Anybody got a match? (Did I mention my middle name is Norea?)

TIMELINE ONE: Let He Who Has Ears to Hear, LISTEN

Listen to your own witless, people:

As far as prophecy is concerned beginning in mid April this year we begin a period of what is known as 1260 days, and that’s 3½ years. A lot of people refer to it as the 3½ year period of a great tribulation that’s going to be on this earth. And that’s exactly where we are in time.

“Compass” documentary aired on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Nov. 23, 2008. Transcript here. Also see Dennis Diehl’s take on the interview, over on Corky’s blog.

TIMELINE ONE: RW Sermon “Three More Weeks”

Takeaway quote from this sermon:

1:53:20 “Three More Weeks”:

“If by Pentecost [June 8, 2008] I’m just going to make this real clear to everyone. If by Pentecost [June 8 2008] it is not powerfully and abundantly clear that there has been a great deal of destruction that will clearly encompass a third of all plant life in the US and at least the clear results of this mingled with blood the death of very much animal life and the beginning of large numbers of human life then I will stop preaching.

Looks like the “live” sermon was cancelled because of the elders’ meeting in Cinci this weekend. Here is the sermon for this week (streaming). If that link doesn’t work for you, download the file here. Of note, nothing will be revealed until it is time for it to happen, everything is spiritual that isn’t physical and physical things are spiritual, and oh yeah the critics are crackpots.

In between the rhetoric and backpedaling, notably, there will be written instructions for the Passover service on April 18th, 2008, on the CoG-PKG site. On the Publications page, at the bottom, it says Articles: Passover | Pentecost and there will be a third article added here, “Passover Service Instructions”.

The Weinlands and the Harrells will be in Jerusalem on April 17th, 2008. There will be a Passover sermon uploaded to the site from Jerusalem on the 18th. Local areas are recommended to keep the Passover around 8PM on the 18th. Weinland says that the brethren will not be screaming, but they will be crying out by that time. Weinland will announce who the second witness is on April the 19th, 2008 [Note that Weinland instead “announced” it one day earlier instead.] in the Saturday sermon following the Passover service on the 18th April, 2008.

Weinland does make the point that, if nothing happens by Pentecost (kept by the CoG-PKG June 8, 2008), with regards to the “fire mingled with blood” of the first trumpet, he will be a false prophet, and he will stop preaching, towards the end of the sermon. He does make a last-ditch fear-mongering plea to “the scattered church” at the end that he would fear to be his critics on April 17th, 2008.

Naturally, Weinland does not address the discrepancy between his prophecies and his critics: I am a member of “the scattered church” but I still call Weinland a false prophet. Therefore, what of Satan’s inability to influence me, now that the seventh seal has been opened? Oh that’s right it’s all spiritual. Or not.

Oh and by the way someone asked me if I was “scared” at all because apparently Weinland went on a runner about how all of his critics (the perverted twisted ones) are “scared scared scared”. I dunno, I’m a little disappointed the Maple Leafs have been eliminated from the playoffs this year, but I wouldn’t say I’m scared. At all. Not even a little bit. Sorry Ronnie boy.

21:30: [Weinland stated that] “….we do not announce the specific location of services, but only the city where they’re taking place, because there are “…a lot of crackpots out there…on the internet…I am talking to some of you crackpots…there are sick, sick people out there…If you don’t agree with something, get a LIFE…How can you feast on this?” [Weinland claims that he has more to say to the crackpots and that] “…you may want to stay tuned to this sermon.”

34:50: “…Critics do not get it because they don’t see it spiritually, they’re small minded, they’re perverted, they’re twisted and they’re destroying themselves. Too bad!! Get a life…while you can.

50:00-51:01: “Also a part of something that I believe God has given to me to do is that I’ll begin my job as one of the two witnesses while in Jerusalem. Both witnesses will be in Jerusalem April the 17th. Laura and I are going to Israel. The Harrells are coming with us. That’ll cause some things out here [unclear].” [laughter] I can hear it now. Whoo! [snickers] They got a 50-50 chance. Well. Four out of three[?]. Maybe there’s someone we’re going to meet up with! Some of you critics out there. I’m talking to you people listening in. Not any of you listening in in the congregation. [snickers] Who could it be? Well that’ll be announced at that time. So just keep listening. We’ll tell you. So the second witness will be with me in Jerusalem and I will announce who it is on the weekly Sabbath of the 19th.” [April 19th, 2008]

1:16:24: “What if, what if…comes April 17 [2008], my life changes dramatically one way or the other because it’s all in. Are we holding back? Are we all running, yet? So what are you going to do some of you who are skeptics and critics and you see these things come to pass? I will tell you what you will do as a whole, you will lie, you will twist, you will distort and you will die – speedily. So, one of us is walking on very dangerous ground.” [Wonder who Rotten Ronnie is referring to here? Hmmmmm?]

1:20:02: [Weinland chastises the critics by saying] “God mocks you critics. God mocks those of you who twist and distort what is true. God will mock your life and what’s going to happen in your life and its going to happen swiftly upon you. Thank God, because your mouths and your attitudes need to come to an end and you’re going to find out that God is not playing games. After April 17, I would fear to be in any of your shoes, truly, truly, truly! …what I say after that day carries a lot more weight……God put me on my feet and he spoke to me…revealing his word…God is the one who has to set us up…it’s all spiritual…What is it that people will believe? Nothing…except what comes to pass when it is spoken…and some are so resistant that they will die.

Not dying yet, Ron. Just holding you to your own words, from earlier in the year. Wonder what his third “Three More Weeks” sermon is going to be about? Anyway, read the precis of the second version of “Three More Weeks” over at Don’t Drink the Flavor-Aid.

Pre-Timeline Two: Your Witless Update

Thanks to Ambassador Watch for the plug. Obviously Gavin is expecting another surge of traffic around the 14th of next month, just as there was an upswing of traffic on March 18th, 2008 (when the seventh seal was opened the first time), and April 17th, 2008 (when the Great Tribulation started the first time).

But do check out the comments on the post.

All I have to say is the same thing I’ve been saying since Timeline #1 failed to pan out:

NO REBOOT RON.

Not much more to say than that, now is there? But let’s let the Insane Lying False Prophet speak for himself:

Pentecost was June 8, 2008.

75 Years of Armstrongism

Three-quarters of a century, and that Kingdom still ain’t come yet.

Any wonder Weinland’s followers wanted the Great Tribulation to start on April 17th, 2008. It would have meant seventy-five years of collective waiting would not have been for nothing.

As it was, well, just like with all other Armstrongist groups: They will be forever waiting, flies trapped in theological amber, as they are wrung dry of every last dollar Weinland and the unholy trinity of Matthews, Harrell and Wrozek, can wring out of all the membership that is left — including the “elders”.
